WESTERN BUREAU:
The invitation read, 'The best of Italy in Jamaica', and chefs from Milan, home of Risotto; Bologna, where tortellini originated, and Naples, the city of pizza, proved that at Half Moon's Il Giardino restaurant on Monday, July 6.
The third in a series of wine dinners by Caribbean Producers Jamaica (CPJ) and stakeholders in the tourist industry, it saw the elegant resort trying its best to out do the expectations of the taste buds in an exciting fare of a seven-course meal, paired with the crème de la crème of Italian wines.
Food partners
Cementing a partnership with RBTT Bank, the providers of great wines proved again, without a doubt, why wine is the natural partner for food. And their food partners at Half Moon proved with conviction that it was not enough to say "we have an Italian restaurant". The food had to be authentic because cooking is just another aspect of the diversity of Italian culture.
Monday's fine dining event was part of CPJ's 15th anniversary celebration, which commenced with an Antinori dinner in May followed by Trapiche from Argentina in June.
