In a story carried in Saturday's Gleaner, it was reported that the national carrier would go to Indigo Partners and Oaktree Capital, who are reportedly the owners of Spirit Airlines.
However, in a letter to The Gleaner, Lalor reiterated yesterday that while the recommendations of his committee had gone to minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service, Don Wehby, they had not yet been acted on by Cabinet.
Lalor went on to characterise the negotiations for the privatisation of Air Jamaica as at an "extremely delicate stage".
According to him, breaches of confidentiality arrangements needed to remain in place to ensure successful proceedings.
"We urge that care be taken to ensure that nothing is done to derail what is a critical transaction for and on behalf of all the people of Jamaica," Lalor's letter read.
