Don't throw away our future
The Editor, Sir:

I am a graduating student of the Muschett High School. I am the Student Council President and I am currently pending 10 CXC subjects and, to tell you the truth Mr Editor, I am not sure about my next step.

Of course I have made plans and wish to attend university but my financial situation precludes me from be being able to attend a university in Kingston. When I heard about UTech's proposal to acquire the Greenfield Stadium for their Western Campus, I glimpsed a light at the end of the tunnel. I hear that there are those who oppose UTech's proposal and I ask, Mr Editor, are they going to preserve a venue that is hardly fulfilling its purpose and throw away the future of hundreds of young people.Make no mistake; I am not the only young person who thinks this way.

I have taken up the challenge of proving this to those who oppose the campus at the stadium. I have gone to many of the high schools in Trelawny with petitions supporting UTech's proposal and I have obtained 219 signatures of young people graduating in 2009 to 2010.

I am, etc.,

Carla Minto
