The Mike Henry mixer

The book, 'Jamaican Cocktails and Mixed Drinks' must have been the highlight of this conversation between Kenny Benjamin (left) and Dawn Henry, wife of Member of Parliament Mike Henry, at right.

Politicians, friends, associates and staff members of Transport Minister Mike Henry all converged on the Guardsman Group Limited Old Hope Road headquarters last Friday to celebrate the launch of his newly revised book, Jamaican Cocktails and Mixed Drinks. This book, according to Henry, has interesting history and tales behind it.

All the drinks, he joked, are linked to all the women, past and present, in his life and escapades. The book, which has more than 300 drink recipes, are categorised in different sections according to liquor base.

Drink samples

Since it was about the launch of a drink book, it was quite fitting that there were samples made from the recipes in the book. Guests took sips of the orange and pineapple daiquiris, which turned out to be a favourite, based on the number of trips to the bar at the entrance. Once inside, there were other strategic bars and a food station for persons who wanted to indulge.

Guests obtained copies of the book and the author signed them gladly.

After the formalities, including words from the very humorous Henry, guests were urged to share their favourite bar jokes, mingle and have a good evening.

Guests celebrating with Mike Henry and wife Dawn, included: Christopher Bovell, Jennifer Lim, Ferris Zaidie, Frank Rosheuvel, Pearnel Charles, Audley Shaw, Dwight and Sharon Moore, Frederic Meurice and wife Lydie and Kingsley Cooper.
