Excitement in the Bay!
Janet Silvera, Senior Gleaner Writer

Willie and Suzan Gault are in the mood for some great music.

WESTERN BUREAU:

The much anticipated Muay Thai fighters, who will duel at the Aqueduct at Rose Hall tonight, can't possibly outdo the exhilaration that Head of State singers Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill brought to Montego Bay on Wednesday.

But that verdict is yet to surface and both our social and entertainment pages will bring you 'ball by ball' results of the action.

Once-in-a-lifetime event

Those who missed the opening night of the fifth staging of the Caribbean Classic Golf International (CCGI) should surely be spanking themselves, because an event of the calibre showcased on Wednesday night happens only once in a lifetime.

Jamaican-born, Califonia-based philanthropist Richard Stephenson and his production team spared no expense as they transformed the Jazz and Blues Festival home venue into the most fabulous experience it has ever had.

To whet the appetites for Cedric the Entertainer, Ity and Fancy Cat, and a host of comediennes on Thursday night, Wednesday's opening session featured Tessane Chin, Assassin and Chalice, who all created waves, delivering one scintillating performance after the other.

Fashion meets Fight

Their set was a precursor to this evening's Fashion Meets Fight showcase, as top-flight fashion designers Alexander McQueen, Parasuco, House of Howe, Thomas Wylde, Sterling Capricio, Dena Burton, and John Varvatos, are all billed to have their newest designs on display.

All this excitement surrounding the ultimate result ... a donation of computers to the country's primary schools. CCGI Foundation has announced that its target in 2009 is to donate 400 brand new Dell computers and establish even more computer learning centres.

To date, the group has given computers to approximately 60 primary schools.
