The Zim Ontario last Monday made its maiden voyage to Kingston, continuing the Zim Container Service (ZCS), the line's main service calling at Kingston.
Noel Hylton, president of the Port Authority of Jamaica; Amos Aloni, vice president, Central America services - Zim; Charles Pennycooke, general manager of CaribStar; Evroy Johnson, member of the managing committee of the Shipping Association of Jamaica (SAJ), along with terminal operators and other members of the shipping industry, were on hand to welcome Captain Hoffman and his crew.
The ZCS provides a weekly service to Kingston, calling both eastbound and westbound, connecting Jamaica to other ports such as: Haifa, Piraeus, Livorno, Genoa, Tarragona, Halifax, New York, Savannah, Panama Canal, Los Angeles, Oakland, Shekou, Hong Kong, Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Pusan and Balboa.
