Good Citizen to atone
Orville Clarke, Gleaner Writer

Tomorrow's well-supported 12-race programme at Caymanas Park will facilitate two Super-6s, while the Pick-9 will be conducted from race four to 12.

In the first Super-6, punters can bank on the fleet-footed MR SKILL in the second race, while carry both QUEEN OF MY HEART and ISLA in the third race over 1500 metres. CONFETTI looked sharp at exercise on Wednesday morning (35.0 for three furlongs) and looks a five-star banker in the fourth race over the straight for maiden three-year-olds, especially from his favourable high number draw.

Another safe banker must surely be HONEY BUNNY against non-winners of three in the fifth, having proved competitive in overnight allowance company last Boxing Day when chasing home MR SKILL.

We look at the second Super-6 which gets under way in the seventh race over the straight for native and imported three-year-olds. Nine have been declared and with the likes of TOP COMMANDER, IT IS WRITTEN, VONALMIGHTY and C'EST MOI present, it promises to be close.

Subsequent races

The Wayne DaCosta-trained IT IS WRITTEN has looked razor sharp at exercise in preparation for this race, and with champion jockey Omar Walker taking the ride, will not go down easily. This lightly raced chestnut gelding won the Mercury Sprint on his debut over the straight, but has failed to follow up in four subsequent races, and although well prepared, preference is for the fleet-footed filly C'EST MOI (Brian Harding up) who has also worked well.

Briefly, ROYAL DREAMER, who has been knocking at the door, gets the nod over MY THUNDER and BDELLIUM in the eighth race over 1500 for the Joshua Morrison Memorial Cup, while the down-in-class JET BLASTER should repeat his 2007 success in the Sports Journalists of Jamaica Trophy over 1200 metres in which LITTLEREDCORVETTE and recent winner MELINDAGATA are twin dangers.

The last three races should be won by BRIGHT WARRIOR, GOOD CITIZEN, following his brave effort with a slipped saddle against the then unbeaten RACING MACHINE in the recent Hall of Fame Stakes Trophy, and DUST ROCK in the nightpan
