Simpson Miller should resign
The Editor, Sir;

Portia Simpson Miller now has four election defeats under her belt. No one can question her popularity but she cannot turn her popularity into votes.

As a diehard Comrade, I am calling for Portia Simpson Miller to resign as the president of the People's National Party (PNP).

Simpson Miller must understand that she is not capable of leading the PNP to an electoral victory. She needs to understand that the party needs someone who has a clear vision for the party and more so Jamaica. She must understand the days of holding babies and kissing everyone are long time over.

Alternative policies

The PNP president must understand that she has to accept every Comrade in the party regardless whether they voted for her in the presidential elections or not.

The PNP must elect a leader who can win elections, a leader who is able to reorganise the party and a leader who has the ability to develop alternative policies to the Govern-ment so that Jamaicans once again can believe in social justice, in opportunity not for the privileged few but for all, whatever their status in life.

I am, etc.,

WAYNE SIMMONDS
