Kerr-Jarrett, McFayden join LIME

Mark Kerr-Jarrett and Ken McFayden have joined the board of Cable and Wireless Jamaica Limited/LIME Jamaica, effective May 20.

Kerr-Jarrett is a landowner and developer from Montego Bay, while McFayden is chief operating officer for Cable and Wireless International.

New CAIC president

Carol Evelyn of St Kitts and Nevis was elected last Friday as president of the Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce Inc (CAIC) for a two-year term ending 2011, succeeding Nigel John of Grenada.

Evelyn is plant manager of API-Harowe Servo Controls Limited in Sandy Point, St Kitts.

Also elected to the new board at the CAIC's 54th annual general meeting held at the Jamaica Manufacturers' Association headquarters in Kingston were secretary Francis Kennedy of GraceKennedy Limited, and treasurer Audley Walker of DFL Finance Limited in Trinidad.

James Moss-Solomon, a former president of CAIC, and a retired GraceKennedy executive, will remain on CAIC's board as special advisor to the newly- elected president, said a statement on the new board.

CAIC is a lobbying entity for private sector interests in the region.

Evelyn, a Nevisian, is the second national of the twin-island state to head the CAIC, behind William Kelsick (1983-85).
