Ifrica looks to 'Montego Bay'

Queen Ifrica

Singjay Queen Ifrica's highly-anticipated album, Montego Bay, was released Tuesday in the United States by VP Records. The set is expected to raise Ifrica's profile in that country, after making an impact at home in Jamaica.

Montego Bay contains the hit songs Daddy, Keep It To Yourself and Far Away. Daddy takes on the sensitive issue of incest while Keep It To Yourself is a veiled crack at homosexuality.

Ska legend's daughter

Ifrica, who is the daughter of ska legend Derrick Morgan, has had a strong run of hit songs in the past two years, starting with the catchy Below The Waist. She says she dedicated the album to Montego Bay, the tourist resort city where she once lived.

Montego Bay is her second album. The first, Fyah Mumma, was released in 2007.

Queen Ifrica is scheduled to start a tour of the US on June 21 to promote Montego Bay.
