Philip Feanny has saddled more winners than any other trainer in the history of local racing - 1,768.

Among that number is an unprecedented 10 Derby winners. Today, the 14-time champion trainer goes for No. 11 with ante-post favourite BRUCEONTHELOOSE, teaming up with leading all-time classic winning jockey Winston Griffiths (the dream team) once again in a bid for their 44th classic winners (a record for both).

Feanny won his first Derby in 1983 with HELLO POOCHIE LIU, who was ridden by Neville Anderson for the Okala Stables. The outstanding filly also won the 1000 Guineas and the Oaks that year.

Feanny subsequently posted PRINCE CONSORT to win the 1986 Derby, followed by the now forgotten Triple Crown winner LIU CHIE POO in 1988, another Triple Crown winner THE VICEROY in 1989 and yet another, MILLIGRAM in 1992 - all with Griffiths in the saddle. After roaring back with WELLS FARGO under Charles Hussey in 1994, Feanny went winless for six years before coming up trumps with Triple Crown winner I'M SATISFIED in the year 2000.

He was followed two years later by SIMPLY MAGIC, who became the first filly to win the Triple Crown at Caymanas Park; A KING IS BORN and his half brother DISTINCTLY IRISH, both with Griffiths riding for popular owner Howard Hamilton, in 2003 and 2004, respectively.
