Tap call centres job market
The Editor, Sir:

I believe that the establishment of call centres is one of the best ways that the current job crunch in Jamaica could be effectively addressed. Call centres employ thousands of persons in India, Africa, and other parts of the globe.

Moreover, to show how lucrative call centres could be in the Caribbean context, local call-centre giant, E-Services, is the largest outsourcing call-centre operation in the Carib-bean. It is also the largest employer in the Jamaican information technology sector.

I think both the Government and the private sector should exploit this highly lucrative and labour-intensive industry.

I am, etc.,
