The police have now charged 24-year-old Steven Henry in connection with the attempted abduction of a businessman in Jacks Hill, St Andrew, on Wednesday.
Allegations are that Henry, who is of a Garth Road address in Barbican, St Andrew, was among three men who challenged the police in a mid-morning shoot-out.
He has been charged with house breaking, shooting with intent and illegal possession of firearm. He is scheduled for court next week.
One of the men who was killed during the shoot-out has yet to be identified.
Police said he is of dark complexion, medium build and about 172 centimetres tall.
The household helper, who was taken into custody in relation to the incident, is still being questioned by the police.
