Mignott had been a minister of the Jamaica Baptist Union (JBU) for 24 years, during which he also served as pastor of the Mt Moriah Circuit of Churches.

He became ill in March of this year and passed away on Tuesday.

"The JBU mourns his loss and recognises the intense grief which his wife Paulette, daughter Paula, the Oracabessa Circuit and other members of his family and close friends are experiencing at this time," the union said. "It is our prayer that Harry's passing is but a peaceful transition to eternal bliss."

Details of the funeral arrangements have not yet become available.
