TVJ's exclusive series, 'Island Queen', returns to the air for a third time with a new season and a new host this evening at 6:30. Alisha Morgan, Miss Jamaica Festival Queen 2007, makes her television debut and will guide viewers throughout the island each week.

The show will feature the 13 finalists in the 2009 Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Competition over the next seven weeks and viewers will see highlights of each parish coronation show and track the progress of their parish representative every Friday at 6:30 p.m. with a repeat on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. leading up to the final show on July 18.

The winner of the Miss Jamaica Festival Queen competition is selected as a cultural ambassador and contestants at the parish and national levels are judged based on talent, poise and cultural awareness. A viewer's choice award will be decided by call and text voting and will be presented at the national coronation show, scheduled for the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.
