Advertising awards planning in full swing
Planning for the Advertising Agencies of Jamaica (AAAJ) Awards Ceremony and Luncheon, which will be held on Wednesday, June 10, have hit high gear.

The Knutsford Court Hotel in New Kingston will play host to the annual awards being planned by Jean Lowrie-Chin, chairperson of the AAAJ media awards planning committee. Lowrie-Chin said the ceremony is held each year to celebrate the time-honoured relationship between the advertising and media fraternities.

The AAAJ will present awards to the top media houses for 2008, with the premier awards being the Media of the Year and the Media Personality of the Year.

Oliver Clarke, J. Lester Spaulding, Gordon 'Butch' Stewart, Carl Young, Neville Blythe and Cliff Hughes have been past recipients of the AAAJ Media Personality of the Year award.

Members of the AAAJ vote for media houses and service agents in various categories that have provided them with the best all-round service to the advertising agencies.

The inaugural award for Best Business Coverage will be presented to the media house which has provided the most effective coverage of the business sector.
