Moral laws
The Editor, Sir:

If there is bad, then there must be good. If there is good, then there must be moral laws, and if there are moral laws then it follows that there must be a moral lawgiver. That moral lawgiver is God.

Life would have no real purpose if, between birth and death, there wasn't a higher purpose for our human existence. If there wasn't a higher purpose for our existence, then living by certain moral laws wouldn't make any sense.

Why do we not steal and kill? Because we know that those acts are wrong. How do we know that those acts are wrong? Because God has taught us, through the Scriptures, right from wrong. Additionally, we're all born with a conscience.

If atheists believe that God doesn't exist, then what's the ultimate purpose of their lives?

I am, etc.,
