Closure of Lime Cay
The Editor, Sir:

In this worldwide economic recession that we are in, it is atrocious that one of the few enjoyment spots, Lime Cay, where poor people can unwind, has to be closed down ostensibly because of over-population of rodents and lack of infrastructure for sanitary purposes, without putting in place the proper authority that should clean and maintain this property.

I am cognisant of the fact that this is a health issue, about which we all should be concerned, but does this move at this specific time constitute the first step towards the eventual abandoning of the foundation builders who have been generating income for their livelihood throughout the years?Or is it a ploy to bring in a monopoly franchise when we least expect it?

Whatever the proposed outcome, the people of Port Royal should benefit too.

I am, etc.,

CONCERNED FRIEND OF PORT ROYAL
