Leaders August Town will travel to the York Town Community Centre today to oppose Humble Lions in a top-of-the-table clash in the second round of the Digicel National Premier League play-offs. Kick off time is 4 p.m.

In the day's other game, Wadadah and Brazil will seek their first points of the play-offs when they face-off at the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) field in Montego Bay.

In the opening games on Wednesday, August Town defeated Wadadah 2-0, while Humble Lions edged Brazil 1-0.

"I think that we played an excellent first half, but in the second period, we didn't play well," said Calvert Fitzgerald, coach of August Town after Wednesday's victory.

August Town, who were relegated from local top flight football last season, narrowly edged out Cavalier to win the KSAFA Super League competition and according to Fitzgerald his players are ready to return to the National Premier League.

"A good start to the competition will be crucial for us. The players are really motivated to do well. Everyone wants to play in the top flight and we are looking to get there," Fitzgerald noted.

All out for victory

Aphas Bernard, Nicholas McCreath and Ezekiel Shaw, who scored both goals in August Town's win will again lead their team's hunt for goals.

Anthony Pringle, coach of Humble Lions, said his team will be going all out for a victory.

"We are going for the win because we are playing at home and we want to make sure that we maintain home advantage," said Pringle.

"Our confidence is very high. However, we are not going to underestimate our opponents because all the other teams in the competition are good teams and I think that it is going to be a difficult task for all of us," Pringle noted.

Pringle added that his team will play a disciplined game both in defence and attack and once they can stop their opponents from scoring, then they we should be able to get their required result.

"We are going out there to nullify our opponents and make sure that we convert our chances because the more games we win, the better it is going to be for us at the end of the competition," Pringle said.

Striker Tyrone Buddah, who scored the winning goal against Brazil, along with his strike partner Kevin Mighty and inspirational midfielder Kimroy Davis are the players who should do well for Humble Lions.

Crucial game

Meanwhile Wadadah, who made the Premier League play-offs last season, but finished at the bottom of the four-team standings are also seeking a big home win.

"Every win in this competition will be a crucial and important one, but one of our primary objectives will be to win all our home games," said Wadadah's player/ coach Daniel Ricketts.

"Currently there are no teams from Montego Bay in the top-flight, and we want to be the ones to get back there," he added.
