There's hope yet for the atheist
The Editor, Sir:

Michael Dingwall in his letter to the editor, Christianity, Rastafarianism and atheism has put forth his position with great eloquence and some amount of authority which would indicate that he is fully convinced of what he is talking about.

He is no doubt, an intelligent human being who has 'mastered' the ability to think freely to the point where he can divorce himself from any superior being or as he puts it, "a caring God who doesn't exist". It is such a pity that this seemingly great mind has thought itself so freely that even the reason and logic of truth have escaped it.

Michael, your ability to think freely is actually a gift from a God who made you in His own image and likeness and gave you freedom of thought, opinion and expression.

Answers

Michael, help us all out and answer the following.

How did the world and everything in it come about?

If the idea of truth and what is right is subjective, then what makes you think you are speaking the truth or what right do you have to say that you are right?

I believe that every soul is redeemable. I believe that though truth evades you presently, you can come to the knowledge of a God who is very real and one who cares for you. I would never suggest that your fate is sealed in hell, but would point out to you that your mind is now your god. God bless you.

I am, etc.,
