
On Saturday, May 16, the American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ) honoured philanthropist/ businesswoman, Michele Rollins at its fifth annual Peacock Ball. The annual AFJ gala and auction brings awareness to the development needs in Jamaica in the areas of education, health care, and the economy.
Organised by a group of dedicated individuals from the Jamaican Diaspora living in South Florida, the event was held at the Ritz-Carlton, Coconut Grove in Miami.
Michele Rollins has made significant contributions to the tourism industry. She is currently chairman of Rollins Jamaica Ltd, the holding company for Rose Hall, Limited, which includes the Ritz-Carlton Golf and Spa Resort. She also holds the position of chairman on several advisory boards of education and culture. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed, and the AFJ proudly added her to its growing list of past honourees.

It's a fabulously golden Michele Rollins who received this year's American Friends of Jamaica Humanitarian Award for her significant contribution to Jamaica. She received the award at the Peacock Ball in Miami, Florida, last Saturday .
