When the lights go out, is it really her hair, boobs, butt and teeth?
From hairpieces, push-up bras, fashion contacts to padded underwear that enhance the gluteus maximus, women have an extensive arsenal of pieces that look like the real deal.
Jamesthinks all these items are deceitful though he can understand a woman's desire to look good. "Good looks was the primary stimulus of attraction for both men and women," concludes a 2008 Science Daily study. So, the first thing both sexes are attracted to is what they see. "I don't like a woman who wears too much mak-up," notes Tom. "My woman must be natural," he adds. However, Patrickis OK with a little enhancement.
"Women always want to look good and they do these things to attract us. I don't mind the make-up or the padded bras or any of that. With the butt thing, I don't think Jamaican women need that anyway," he said. For him, a woman's mind is the most important thing, but you have to get past the physical before you see their intellect so he doesn't mind if they need help to get him to see who they really are.
Biggest turn-off
Patrick seems alone in his belief. "No man, those girls are too fake," was Adam's* response. His main pet peeve is hair extensions. "The biggest turn-off is to meet a girl and she looks good and everything and then you start running your hands through her hair and all you feel are tough tracks, that's not right. I don't have a problem with short hair once it's well kept. If I meet you with what I think is your natural, beautiful, flowing hair, only to find out it's fake, without you telling me, then I will start to wonder what else you have lied about? Obviously you weren't being real."
But are men being too picky? Or does this apply to the ones Flair spoke with? Some of the women think so. "False hair, push-up bras and all those things have been around for a long time. I don't think most Jamaican men get caught up with whether or not those things are real," notes Karen. They are almost a part of us, once they look good I don't see a man having a problem with them."
Women enhancing their figure to entice men is not a new game, the technology has just made it harder to instantly spot what's real and what's not. The extreme corsets of centuries gone by are just being replaced by padded underwear with removable butt pads. No matter what a woman does to attract a man, it still comes down to choices.
