The annual Liguanea Lodge Fund-raising Wine & Cheese and Art Auction takes place at the Talk Of The Town, Jamaica Pegasus hotel, on Thursday, May 21, at 7 p.m.

Auctioneer will be D.C. Tavares & Finson, from whom colour catalogues will be available prior to the event.

The auction will feature a wide collection of original works by established and upcoming Jamaican artists. Artists to be presented include George Rodney, Owen Beckford, David Pottinger, Christopher Gonzales, Samere Tamsley, Judy-Ann McMillan, Stafford Schlieffer and Cecil Cooper.

In the past, proceeds from the auction have gone to worthy masonic charities which include Maxfield Park Children's Home, where a horticultural project/greenhouse was built to assist the children to develop their horticultural/gardening skills and benefit from the sale of potted plants. Three students have gone on to pursue a career in horticulture. Several boys continue to be assisted and mentored through high schools.

Hospitals have also benefited, such as University Hospital of the West Indies and Bustamante Hospital for Children. Various basic schools have also been recipients.

This auction has established itself as the leading art auction on the calendar, and good fellowship and entertainment have always been the hallmark which contributes to its annual success. Open to the public, art enthusiasts, art collectors and charitable-minded individuals.
