Harbour View aim to end season on a high
Robert Bailey, Gleaner Writer

Harbour View coach Donovan Hayles still has his eyes on the main prize as the Digicel Premier League approaches a very interesting end.

The Stars of the East revived their slim hopes of capturing the trophy with a hard-fought 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Boys' Town on Wednesday night at the Harbour View Mini Stadium.

The win pushed Harbour View to 68 points, three behind Portmore United (71) who they host in their final game on Sunday. Tivoli Gardens, the other club in the hunt for the title, are on 69 points. "I never gave up hope even when things looked dim and down for us," said Hayles. "As a coach, I have to keep positive. The players have really responded to this positive message and now it is going to be three-the-hard-way on Sunday for the title," he said.

Our fate in our hands

Hayles added: "I told the players that our fate is still in our own hands and we will have to work hard to achieve it because we need to finish the season on a high and to show people that we have guys with commitment and they responded tonight."

Andre Fagan (21st) and Kemar Lawrence (27th) scored for the Stars of the East who recorded their 18th victory of the season. Wayne Ellis scored for Boys' Town in the seventh minute.

Hayles stated that his players were determined to win their last three remaining games, and they showed it against Arnett (Gardens) on Sunday and they came back and exhibited the same against Boys' Town.

"I think that we played some good football in the first half and in the second period we backed off but we defended stoutly and this is very important heading into Sunday's game against Portmore United," Hayles noted.
