Coach of Digicel Premier League leaders Portmore United, Linval Dixon, has declared that their final match on Sunday against Harbour View at Compound is a must-win game, following their 0-0 draw against Tivoli Gardens at Ferdie Neita Park on Wednesday.

The draw inched Portmore to 71 points while Tivoli Gardens moved to 69 in second place. Harbour View gave their slim chance at the title a boost with a 2-1 win over Boys' Town to jump to 68 points.

"It is a game we have to win, there is no other result, we were hoping we get the victory tonight, but we never did, but we just have to get ourselves ready for the next match and hopefully we can get a result," coach Dixon, referring to the Harbour View clash.

Tough match

He added: "It will always be a tough match Harbour View still have a chance to win it, likewise Tivoli, I hope that the team that Tivoli play next, Arnett, will come with a professional attitude and fight to the end."

Tivoli dominated the first half on Wednesday and should have scored twice, Oraine Simpson and Jameel Thompson missing clear-cut chances.

Portmore wasted three chances late in the game to pop champagne at Ferdie Neita Park. Adrian Reid came closest as his lob crashed off the left post.

Portmore's strikers need to wake up from their scoring slump if they hope to get past Harbour View on Sunday. They have netted only once in their last three games. Meanwhile, two inspirational players, Tivoli's Navion Boyd and Portmore's Ricardo Cousins are done for the season as they picked up red cards in the 66th and 90th minutes in the game.

Tivoli Gardens coach, Lenworth Hyde, said his team will be looking to pounce should Portmore slip up against Harbour View. "We have Arnett (Gardens) at home, so we just have to win that game."

"If we win that game and Harbour View win (over Portmore), we will be home," coach Hyde said. "We can definitely win the Premier League. We are going there (at home), very optimistic and will play some good football."
