Boldon thankful

MIAMI, Florida (CMC):

Retired Trinidad and Tobago sprinter Ato Boldon says he is happy that Usain Bolt was not around during his track and field career.

"Thank God I retired before this guy (Bolt) started to run like this," the 35-year-old Boldon told the Runner's Tribe. "I would have to train more like a 400-metre runner," said Boldon.

"The truth is that anyone can analyse all day and train all day (on beating Bolt). But maybe two or three people on the planet have the race model that can cause Usain any problems at 100 metres. And at 200 it's even worse.

"At the end of the day, the Ford can't do much about the Ferrari coming up fast behind it. The only way to beat Bolt is from the front - so that means great start and more importantly, great first 60-70," added Boldon.

Barca lift title

VALENCIA, Spain (AP):

Barcelona rallied for a 4-1 victory against Athletic Bilbao for their record 25th Copa del Rey title yesterday. Lionel Messi's 57th-minute winner came before Bojan Krkic and Xavi Hernandez sealed a well-deserved win that put the Catalans on course to becoming the first Spanish club to win three trophies in a season.

Gaizka Toquero headed Athletic in front after nine minutes before Yaya Toure equalised in the 32nd following an individual run from inside the Athletic half. Barcelona's first domestic cup triumph since 1998 also snapped a three-year trophy-less streak.

Ronaldinho may leave

SAO PAULO (AP):

Ronaldinho's agent has dismissed the notion that the player could return to Brazilian football to join fellow stars Ronaldo and Adriano, but says he may leave AC Milan for another European club.

"There is no possibility he leaves Europe right now," Ronaldinho's brother and agent Roberto de Assis told the Estado de S. Paulo newspaper yesterday.

The playmaker hasn't been playing as a regular starter at AC Milan.

"If you ask me if he may change clubs in Europe, then I would say yes," Assis said.
