THE EASY Star All-Stars' reworking of The Beatles classic 1967 album, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, has debuted at number one on Billboard magazine's Reggae chart.

The Easy All-Stars Lonely Hearts Dub Band bounced Buju Banton's Rasta Got Soul set from the top spot.

Released in April, Lonely Hearts Dub Band has got favourable reviews in the British and Australian press. The All-Stars band has made appearances in the United States and England promoting the album.

It is the latest venture by the four-piece band. Previously, they covered Pink Floyd's 1973 set, Dark Side of The Moon, and Radiohead's O K Computer.

Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is arguably The Beatles' finest work. It contains the hit songs, With a Little Help From My Friends and She's Leaving Home.

The album won four Grammy Awards in 1968, including Album of the Year.
