Leg-spinner Rawle Lewis' outstanding showing in the two-day Jamaica Super Cricket League continued yesterday as after making a century in the Kingston Tigers' first innings, he returned to claim five wickets and lead his team to an innings and 12 runs win over Hanover Dolphins, at Sabina Park.

Lewis, whose 100 not out guided the Tigers to 304 in their first innings, bagged 2-21 and 3-33 as the Dolphins, who resumed from their overnight position of 60-2, were bowled out for 177 in their first innings. Asked to follow-on after lunch, the Dolphins were bowled out for 115 in their second time at the crease.

Valuable support

Barbadian Ashley Nurse, who made 84 in the Tigers respectable total, provided valuable support to Lewis in the first innings with 2-25, while left-arm orthodox spinner Paul Harrison pocketed 4-77. Brian Hutchinson got 3-27 in the Dolphins' second innings.

Another Barbadian, Kurt Wilkinson, 58, was the Dolphins' top scorer in their first innings, while there were decent contributions from Ziggy Levy, 55, and Hugh Blackwood 29 not out.

The victory propelled the previously fifth-placed Tigers to 11 points and to the top of the standings with Manchester Lions and champions St Catherine Saints, who played to a draw in their top-of-the-table clash at Chedwin Park.

The Lions, who began the weekend in third position, defeated the Saints on first innings.

After making 318 in their first innings the Lions, courtesy of off-spinner Sheldon Powell (3-11), Krishmar Santokie (2-28) and David Powell 2-45, bowled out the Saints for 169. Shacoya Thomas, 44 not out, made most runs for the defending champions.

Batting a second time, the Lions could only muster 63, with off-spinner Bevon Brown, 5-27, and Odean Brown, 5-23, claiming the wicketrs.

In their chase of 212, the Saints could only manage 105-2 at the close.
