August Town, leaders of the KSAFA Super League on goal difference over rivals Cavalier, will seek to wrap up the title today when they host Maverley-Hughenden at UWI Bowl in the final round of matches.
Cavalier, who will play away to bottom-place Police National at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex in the day's other key matchup, also have 46 points.
All August Town need to secure the title is a win.
"We beat Maverley 3-1 in the first round but are not taking things lightly. Only a victory will guarantee us the title and we will be going all out to achieve it," said August Town's captain, Dwight Morgan.
promotion
The winner of the league will represent KSAFA in next month's play-offs to gain promotion in the Digicel Premier League.
In the meantime, Cavalier's player/coach, David Laylor, said they are hoping for the best.
"Tomorrow (today) will usher in the beginning of a new season (premier league play-offs), or the ending of another (super league)," said a philosophical-sounding Laylor.
"We just know that we have to win and try to score as much goals as possible and hope that August Town buck their toe. We just have to hope that Maverley can defeat them, as Maverley defeated us this season and are quite capable," he added.
Elsewhere, Santos, who on 43 points have a mathematical, but largely improbable, chance of winning the championship, will be at home to the Jamaica Defence Force, while relegation-threatened Liguanea United (16) and Mountain View (15) will be away and at home to Bull Bay and Real Mona, respectively. Police National (13) round off the standings.
Constant Spring will host Duhaney Park in the day's other encounter.
