I wish to take issue with my learned friend, Howard Hamilton, Q.C., on his invitation to Agriculture Minister Christopher Tufton to devise "some system" to collect mangoes falling from trees all over Jamaica and get them to hungry children in Kingston. This highlights the national challenge of getting idle hands to idle lands. It would be refreshing instead to hear legal luminaries, such as Mr Hamilton and Frank Phipps, make submissions from their privileged perches on "some system", with the same frankness they have addressed 'Mi Lud' rather than beating around the bush.
Compulsory national youth service perhaps?
