On Bolt's accident

Juliet says:

I am relieved that Usain and his passengers are all ok. I hope that this will be a wake-up call for him to control himself on and off the track. His mentors need to take a good look at Usain and teach him a little more control. What is he doing speeding on a wet or even dry road? His career depends on his lifestyle. You want to be the wealthiest sprinter ever? Then guess what, Usain, if sponsors see you as a 'reckless' individual you will not be used to promote their products. You must sit back and understand that, my son.

Donald says:

Over ten years ago René Simoes got mad with 'Pepe' for falling off a bike while out of camp. It's time these sportsmen get it. Their bodies are their major assets, be careful in private and none professional activities.Taylor now Bolt. Come on guys, extend the same professionalism used in training and performance to other areas. Glad you are okay.

Walk good!

On fuel tax

Georgette says:

All I know is that my transportation expense (which is already a half of my salary) is going to go up whether legally or illegally and I will have two choices, suffer or quit. It is my opinion that taxi drivers deserve to have their fares increased now that their operating costs will face a hike.

Some may argue that they got one already when the price of gas was way higher than it is now. But I say the hike in cost of living cancels that one out. I wonder how the Jamaica Labour Party feels now that the shoe is on the other foot?

Kim says:

The petrol tax is not a good thing at this time. It's already so very difficult for most Jamaicans to manage day to day.

Average young professional earns$65,000 (net)

Expenses Amount
Rent/Mortgage: $25,000
Car loan: $25,000
Utilities: $6,000
Miscellaneous: $5,000
Total: $61,000

Do you realise that student loan is not considered or the increase in utility payments or insurance? Young professionals need a break; most of us 18-26 will not be able to buy a house. A university degree can buy neither food nor fuel.
