The regulatory body had initially said it would stage four public consultations and has already met with consumers in Portland, St James, Manchester and the Corporate Area.
But the OUR yesterday announced that it would now stage a public consultation in Spanish Town, St Catherine, next Wednesday.
According to the OUR the decision to extend the public consultation was in direct response to representation from the business community, the Portmore Council, the St Catherine Parish Council and the Consumer Advisory Committee on Utilities.
Despite the extension of the consultative process, the regulatory body says it still anticipates completing the review process in time for the June 1 implementation of the new tariff structure.
The JPS has requested an almost 23 per cent, on average, increase in the non-fuel portion of its tariff.
