CHELMSFORD, England (CMC):
Fast bowler Jerome Taylor will test his match readiness when he lines up against England Lions on Friday in West Indies' final tour game before the first Test bowls off next week.
Taylor was expected to arrive in England yesterday after recovering from a hip injury that prevented him from leaving with the Windies squad earlier this month.
West Indies coach John Dyson said the 24-year-old would be expected to take his place against England's 'A' side in the match scheduled for the County Ground at Derby.
Fully fit
"We expect him to be fully fit. The reports from the West Indies say that and we expect him to play at Derby," said Dyson.
Taylor last played for the West Indies in the fourth Test against England on the recent Caribbean tour before missing the final Test and the five-match one-day international series through injury.
He was the architect of West Indies' series win after his sensational spell of five for 11 sent England crashing to 51 all out in the second innings of the opening Test in Jamaica, setting up the hosts' innings and 23-run victory.
Fast bowler Fidel Edwards, currently campaigning in the Indian Premier League, is expected to link up with the squad on Sunday.
