Kamesha Turner is Miss St Ann

Miss St Ann Festival Queen 2009, Kamesha Turner. - Contributed

Twenty-three-year-old teacher and CARICOM youth ambassador Kamesha Turner was named Miss St Ann Festival Queen 2009 at the first Jamaica Cultural Development Commission Parish Festival Queen coronation show. The show was staged in Ocho Rios at the St John's Anglican Church hall last Saturday night.

Turner took home the crown, a 20-inch flat-screen television, courtesy of Singer Jamaica Ltd, gift baskets courtesy of Soft Sheen Carson and Spring Time, a scholarship courtesy of the Brown's Town Community College, $20,000 cash prize and other incentives. She also walked away with the trophy of the 'Most Culturally Aware' contestant.

Turner will represent St Ann at the Jamaica Festival Queen National Coronation Show, scheduled for July 18.
