FORMER Byron Lee and the Dragonaires bass player, Courtney Robb, has been placed on the kidney transplant waiting list at the Florida Hospital Transplant Center.

In a statement sent to The Gleaner recently, Robb said he has been on the list since March 25. He is optimistic about his chances of a transplant.

"Until I get the transplant, I continue to do dialysis, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. With my blood type, they say I will have one to two years to wait, but it could happen before," Robb said.

The lanky musician said he lost his kidneys while performing with the Dragonaires in the Turks and Caicos Islands in December 2005. He has been receiving treatment since January 2006.

Courtney Robb was a member of the Dragonaires for more than 20 years.
