Pre-schoolers to learn foreign languages come September
Parents of pre-school children who want them to acquire a foreign language will be able to do so through the Centre of Language and Culture (CLC), which is to establish a Trilingual Pre-School this September.

Aline Luna Less, Director of the (CLC) said the Trilingual School, which will offer, English Language, French and Spanish will target children between the ages of two and a half and four years old.

"This is the best age to learn because they are imitating and repeating everything at this age," Luna Less told The Gleaner.

Luna Less said learning more than one language would not confuse children.

"It wouldn't confuse them. The fact that they learn our mother tongue language, we know it. So the fact that they are hearing the English Language, that is the language they will master the most," she explained.

Ative speakers

Luna Less noted that the languages will be taught by native speakers.

The language school opened its doors in 2003. Students are taught about about languages and culture (French, Spanish and English). Camps are held during holidays.

The director also noted that the institution, which is located on Grosvenor Terrace in St Andrew also offers Salsa classes and translation services.
