Jean Hastings, former project manager of the Primary Education Support Programme in the Ministry of Education has been appointed Project Director of the Education Transformation Team (ETT).
Hastings replaced Frank Weeple who resigned from the ETT last month. Her appointment takes effect April 20.
Hastings holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Baruch College, City University of New York. She has a bachelor's degree in economics, a post-graduate diploma in management studies and a certificate in instructional systems design from the University of the West Indies, Mona.
She brings to the Education Transformation Programme extensive experience gained during more than 10 years as project manager of the Government of Jamaica/Inter-American Development Bank (GOJ/IDB) Primary Education Improvement Programme and the GOJ/IDB Primary Education Support Project.
She was instrumental in the effective implementation of the revised primary curriculum and National Assessment Standards in all primary schools.
