Countries of the western hemisphere have a 'poor record' of implementing decisions and recommendations adopted at previous summits, according to a report that will be made public during this week's Fifth Summit of the Americas.
International relations director for the Network of Women and Non-Government Organisations Dr Kris Rampersad told the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC) yesterday that the report, which will be released during the Civil Society Forum on Thursday, will show the implementation record has been 'pretty poor' by countries after adopting nearly 650 recommendations and mandates over the past four summits.
"Generally it has not been much action in terms of implementation. There have been some countries that have made progress ... there have been instances where there has been no movement at all and there have been some countries where there has been regression.'
