Kingston College 223.50, Holmwood 400.50

Kingston College (KC) and Holmwood Technical crowned themselves respective boys and girls champions at the 99th staging of the championships. KC outscored dethroned champions Calabar by 1.5 points, in one of the closest finishes in the history of the event, while Holmwood almost doubled nearest rivals Edwin Allen and Vere Technical, winning by 197.5 points.

Cricket - ISSA/Grace Shield Final

April 7-9, Melbourne Oval:

Eltham 357 and 323 Innswood 177 and 127-5

Eltham High underlined their status as urban area cricket kingpins after defeating Innswood High on first innings to claim their fifth straight title at Melbourne Oval. Opener Jervin Gordon (68) and all-rounder Romeo Parker (68) top-scored for the champions in their first innings, while national Under-19 left-arm seamer Romeo Dunca (6-52) destroyed Innswood.
