Friday, April 3 saw family and friends gather at the Hilton Kingston Jamaica to say farewell to Leslie Chung, managing director of British Caribbean Insurance Company (BCIC), upon his retirement.
Chung devoted his professional life of 43 years to the general insurance industry, first with (BCIC) in 1966, with a two-year break to serve at NEM Insurance Company as branch inspector, then returning to BCIC in 1973 where he has remained for the last 36 years. After serving for seven years, Chung was appointed general manager in 1980 and managing director in 1985, a position he held until his retirement on March 31.
Chung will remain on the BCIC board in the capacity of deputy chair.
He has impacted the lives of many within and without the insurance fraternity.
