BASED on current form and their recent victory over Bull Bay, Calvert Fitzgerald, coach of leaders August Town, believes his team is peaking at the right time in their bid to win the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA)/Claro Super League.

"I think that we are getting better at the right time because we started out the season well, but we ran into a bad patch where we drew five games," he pointed out.

"However, we have now won our last five matches, which is great for us," he added.

Nicholas McCreath was largely responsible for their latest win, on Saturday, as he scored a double for August Town's 2-0 victory in the match played at Edward Seaga Sports Complex.

Fifth- and 49th-minute goals

His goals came at the fifth and 49th minutes and pushed August Town to 35 points, five clear of their nearest rivals - Cavalier, Santos and the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) - who are all tied for second with 30 points.

Despite the relative comfort they now enjoy, Fitzgerald added that they are taking things one step at a time and his players are very focused on the task ahead.

"Our aim is to maintain our lead and, once we are able to do this, then we should be able to win the title," Fitzgerald said.
