I am writing with regard to the horrible condition of Kensington Crescent in New Kingston.

I have been residing in this area for more than three years and I can safely say that the state of the road has worsened.

The Gleaner carried a photo of the deplorable condition of the road in mid-year 2008. Again, on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, two photos were carried - the before and after. No one has come forward to address this sore point and nothing has been done.

It seems the councillor, caretaker and member of parliament for this area have no shame. When political campaigning was being done in 2007, persons from the Jamaica Labour Party came to my doorstep, earnestly soliciting support. I suppose that because they are sitting pretty in Parliament or because no monarch is scheduled to travel this route, it deserves no attention.

Driving on this road is truly a hill 'n' gully ride. Even large, heavy-duty vehicles slow to a crawl when travelling this course. Kensington Crescent is in an extremely bad state despite the beautiful apartment complexes.

When will someone pay attention?
