Liverpool get Chelsea again
LONDON (AP):

Chelsea and Liverpool will resume their private Champions League contest when they meet for a fifth time in five years and for the right to meet either Barcelona or Bayern Munich in the semi-finals.

Defending champion Manchester United will face FC Porto, which knocked United out in 2004 when Jose Mourinho was in charge of the Portuguese team and took it all the way to the title.

Arsenal plays Villarreal in a repeat of the 2006 semifinal which the Gunners won before losing to Barcelona in the final.

The first legs will be played April 7-8 and the second legs on April 14-15. Five-time champion Liverpool and Chelsea, last season's runner-up, have previously met three times in the semi-finals and once in the group phase. Every game has been closely fought and the teams have a head-to-head record of two wins each and four draws.

Adding domestic games, they have met 22 times in the past five seasons.

"We know each other very well and this is an exciting draw," said Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez, who led the Reds to the 2005 title and also to the 2007 final. "We knew it would be difficult to avoid an English team but we need to approach the two games with confidence. We've done the double over them this season in the league, but clearly these two games in the quarter-finals will be different."
