Wine with Rotarians

The Rotary Club of Montego Bay has confirmed some nine wine distributors which will be participating in WINE '09 Affair at Shoppes at Rose Hall tomorrow evening.

This is symbolic in the sense that those attending will have the chance to taste more than 30 different wines from around the world, all in one place.

"I think that Montego Bay will appreciate a wine event, as this is shaping up to be one that will complement the wines, or more appropriately, the food! You wouldn't believe what is being offered to tease the palate," organiser Rotarian Michelle Daswani said.

Main attraction

"Let's start with the main attraction, executive chef and a 'magician' with culinary offerings, Robert Joseph, promises to take you on a journey using your taste as the tour guide," the excited Daswani told The Gleaner.

Topping off the evening, will be Donnie Bunting's "to-die-for" lamb, a pasta bar, flambée station, gourmet cheeses, desserts, gourmet coffee and teas ... and that's just to start with. Throw in some beef tenderloin, smoked salmon, seared scallops, shrimp, marlin, kebabs and foie gras. "There are just too many for me to list," Daswani added.

The event starts at 7 p.m. and, already, some 400 tickets are gone as friends of the Rotarians get ready to support participating distributors - Caribbean Producers Jamaica (CPJ), 1876, Betco Premier Limited, Lascelles Wines & Spirits, Chas E. Ramson, Frozen Delights Distributors, Alicia James, Karen Hue, Jamaican Standard Products, Wisynco and Island Ice.
