Wellness expo for Mandeville

20Twenty Strategies Consulting will host its second JAMCEN Health and Wellness Expo on March 28 and 29 at the Southern Regional Health Authority, 3 Brumalia Road, Mandeville, Manchester.

The expo will create wellness awareness among the over half million persons living primarily in the parishes of Clarendon, Manchester and St Elizabeth.

Quality of life

"We would like to equip persons with the knowledge that can enhance their lives. A healthy lifestyle is about obtaining a balanced life, one where your mental, physical and spiritual are at one. Good health is not about how much money you spend but instead about the quality of life one lives by engaging in simple cost-effective activities that enhance their well-being," said Annette Salmon of 20Twenty Strategies.

The expo will feature seminars, demonstrations and workshops so that persons will leave with the 'know how' to start implementing simple programmes to enhance their lives.

Each day will start with demonstrations:

Yoga/pilates/power walk at 7: a.m.

Dance/aerobics at 8: a.m.

Fitness consultations at 9: a.m

Rosie 'Peppy' Parkes of Bally Fitness and Gold's Gym in Washington, DC, and Lipton Lee, two very capable fitness coaches, will show patrons how they can exercise at home and keep fit.

Persons with sports injuries, recovering from stroke, arthritis and back problems are especially invited to make use of this opportunity.

Seminars

Seminars will cover topics such as workplace wellness, coping with job loss, diabetes and complications, the importance of colon therapy and exercise for stroke recoverees.

Cooking green to prevent cancer.

Juicing your veggies.

Backyard/kitchen gardening.

Weight loss - simple strategies to lose weight and keep it off.

Art and craft (with Keith Agard from the Institute of Art and Culture).

Dog care and grooming(with Andrew Codrington of Aico Dogz).
