69 named for Carifta Games
World Junior 100m champion Dexter Lee, Ramone McKenzie, Carrie Russell and Natoya Goule head a list of 69 athletes released yesterday to represent Jamaica at the 38th Carifta Games in St Lucia.

Another athlete will be named after Champs to the squad for the games, which will take place over the Easter weekend, April 11-13, at the George Odlum Stadium in Vieux Fort.

Lee, who won the 100m at last year's World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland and McKenzie, the World Youth 200m champion, head the boys' Under-20 squad.

Goule, winner of the Under-17 800/1500m for three consecutive years before taking the same events at Under-20 level last year and Russell, bronze medallist in the 100m at the 2006 Beijing World Junior Championships, are the big names in the girls' Under-20 squad.

Bridgeport High's Jahazeel Murphy and Vere's Deandre Whitehorn, winner of the sprint double at the trials, head the Under-17 boys' and girls' entries.
