If Jamaica's captain Tamar Lambert has his way, Jamaica could next Monday be celebrating back-to-back liens on the WICB Regional Four-day Championship.

The 27-year-old, who last weekend scored his first century of the season to help Jamaica defeat title-chasing rivals Barbados in Barbados, said right now his team is playing fairly well and come this weekend when they go up against the Combined Colleges and Campuses (CCC) at Sabina Park, they will be seeking maximum points to wrap up the title.

"Most of the work has been done. But having said that, we still have three games to go. Every game we play, we want to get 12 points, we always want to come out with more points than our opposition. So, once we do that, we would be on our way," said Lambert, who along with members of Jamaica and CCC team arrived in the island yesterday.

Championship honours

Maximum 12 points, would guarantee Jamaica championship honours. They lead the seven-team championship with 80 points, 24 more than second-place Windward Islands and 30 more than third-placed Barbados, with three rounds remaining.

The Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago and the CCC, who have four matches remaining, are on 47, 45 and 30 points, respectively, while Guyana round off the standings with 24.

"I don't want to get too excited. The CCC put us under a lot of pressure when we played them in Barbados, so this time around we don't want to make any mistakes," explained Lambert, who will be missing the services of left-arm spinner Nikita Miller, who will be on West Indies duties this weekend against England in the first two one-day internationals in Guyana.

Leg-spinner Gavin Wallace, who has missed the last two games, is expected to replace Miller.
