Windalco, Arnett look to rebound
Robert Bailey, Gleaner Writer

Windalco will meet Arnett Gardens in today's feature game in the Jamaica Netball Association (JNA)/ Berger Paints Super League at the Leila Robinson Courts, starting at 6:05 p.m.

In the day's other game, Police 'A' oppose newcomers Hampshire 'A' at 6:30 p.m.

Windalco, who were beaten in the final of the Jamaica National Building Society Open League by sister team Jamalco earlier this season, also lost their opening match to Tivoli Gardens last Saturday.

Team to rebound

However, their coach, Winston Nevers, said he expects his team to rebound.

"It is going to be a tough game because both teams are evenly matched but I think we have the edge, based on the experience in our team," said Nevers.

"I am very confident that we can beat them," he said, while adding he won't be taking his opponents lightly. "I am not going to underestimate them because they have been playing in patches and we are going to exploit all the weaknesses that they have in their team."

National representative and goal defence, Tracey Robinson, and national Under-21 player, Stacey Griffths, are expected to lead the charge for Clarendon-based Windalco.

Like Windalco, Arnett Gardens also lost their opening match to Jamalco but coach Everton Samuels is expecting a much improved performance from his team.

Prepared to fight

"I think that the team that makes the least mistakes will win the match. Windalco have a lot more experienced players in their team than us but we are prepared to fight to the end," said Samuels. "I think we are a lot more improved going into this game and I also think that we are more prepared and the girls are feeling pretty confident about themselves."

Meanwhile in the Supreme Ventures Divisional 'C' League, at 2 p.m. Blades United 'B' tackle Hampshire 'D', Alexander Strikers 'B' face Omega 'C', Hagley Park Strikers 'A' oppose Skibo 'C' and Duhaney Park Strikers 'B' challenge Police 'C'.

At 5:15 p.m., Millenium Strikers entertain Duhaney Park 'A', Rollington Town await Upper Camp and Maverley 'B' battle Molynes 'C'.

In the Western Union Divisional 'B' League starting 4 p.m., Molynes United 'B' oppose Blades United 'A', Boulevard Baptist face Hellshire, Omega 'B' await New Kingston Raiders 'B' and East Central challenge Leiba Gardens.
