Good deeds and hard work should be rewarded, and they were for five outstanding women, last Friday, as the Kiwanis Club of New Kingston hosted its annual Women of Excellence champagne luncheon at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel.
Pamela Harrison, educator, Sheila Graham, lecturer/cultural specialist, and Scarlette Gillings, head of Jamaica Social Investment Fund, each received the Veuve Clicquot Award. Dr Carolyn Gomes, paediatrician/human rights activist, received the Kiwanis Club of New Kingston Award for Exemplary Leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility. The final recipient, Frances Madden, social worker, got the Outstanding Community Service Award.
