Joint leaders Santos will be seeking to avenge their first-round defeat against archrivals Cavalier when they meet in the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA)/Claro Super League competition, at the Bell Chung Stadium today, starting at 3:30 p.m.

The Carlton 'Spanner' Dennis-coached Santos are tied with August Town and the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) atop the standings with 26 points, while Cavalier are fourth on 24 points.

Santos were beaten 1-0 by Cavalier in their first meeting and Dennis is confident his side can turn the tables.

battle royal

"I am expecting a battle royal from them because they are always inspired whenever they play against us and they have also strengthened their team with a number of good players this season," said Dennis.

"We are hoping to secure all the points that we need to stay atop the league. We also want to make sure that we protect our home record, especially for this round by collecting maximum points," Dennis added.

He pointed out that his team has always done well in the second round and he also hoping to maintain their unbeaten run at home.

"We are were we want to be at this point in the league, so we're coming out very confident because our aim is win every game in this round," said Dennis.

Meanwhile, Lamar Mor-gan, assistant coach of Cavalier, said his players are looking forward to today's encounter.

"It is going to be very difficult for us to beat Santos on their home ground, but we are going out very hard for the full 90 minutes," said Morgan.

"We have been having an indifferent season so far but we have managed to keep in close contact with the leaders."

Bull Bay (19) are in fifth position, followed by Constant Spring (18), Real Mona (18), Maverley/Hughenden (14), Duhaney Park (12), Police National (7), Mountain View (5) and Liguanea United (4).
